Upload PDF from iMac to iPad

Step 2: Install iBooks on iPad

Click your iPad's name in the "Devices" section on the left side of the screen. Click the "Books" tab at the top of the screen and click the option button next to "All Books" or "Selected books," depending on your preference. Click the books you want to sync in the "Books" section. Hit "Apply".
Now eject your iPad and tap "iBooks" to open the application. Tap the "Collections" tab at the top of the screen in iBooks, select "PDFs" and tap the icon of the PDF you want to read on the bookshelf.
